Authorities in Atlanta are investigating a high-profile theft involving unreleased Beyoncé material after a vehicle connected to her tour team was broken into last week.
According to Atlanta police, an SUV rented by Beyoncé’s choreographer and a dancer was targeted in a smash-and-grab incident on July 8, just days before the music icon was set to kick off a four-night series of performances in the city. The vehicle’s rear window was shattered, and two suitcases were removed by the perpetrator.
Among the items reported stolen were two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, luxury clothing, and five thumb drives believed to contain unreleased Beyoncé tracks. Also missing are behind-the-scenes footage and sensitive production plans, possibly related to upcoming performances or music projects.
Police say the break-in was captured on surveillance footage, and investigators have recovered “light prints” at the scene, offering potential forensic leads. An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect, though officials have not yet released the individual’s identity.
The theft has sparked concerns about leaks and the potential commercial impact of the missing music, especially given Beyoncé’s famously tight control over her creative output and brand. The star’s fanbase, known as the BeyHive, has also expressed outrage online and hopes that the materials will be recovered quickly.
This is not the first time the music industry has dealt with pre-release leaks or content theft, but the involvement of a global superstar like Beyoncé places this incident in a particularly high-stakes spotlight.
