Chilean golfer Joaquin Niemann has etched his name further into LIV Golf history by securing his fifth individual title of the 2025 season, clinching a commanding victory at the LIV Golf UK event held at the JCB Golf and Country Club in Rocester, Staffordshire.
Niemann, 26, entered the final round with a commanding six-shot advantage and maintained composure throughout Sunday’s play, carding a composed 68. His round included five birdies and a lone bogey, staving off a surging challenge from American veteran Bubba Watson, who fired a blistering 65 featuring four birdies and two eagles on the back nine.
With this triumph, Niemann becomes the first player in LIV Golf history to record five tournament wins in a single season — having previously taken victories in Adelaide, Singapore, Mexico City, and Virginia. The win further solidifies his position as a dominant force in LIV’s 2025 campaign and a frontrunner for season-long honors.
Niemann’s UK win comes on the heels of a disappointing missed cut at The Open earlier this month — an outcome that prompted him to make sweeping changes to his inner circle. Shortly after exiting the major championship, he parted ways with both his longtime coach and caddie, making this return to form even more impressive.
“I felt like today I was pretty calm, pretty chill, until Bubba started playing golf,” Niemann reflected post-round. “He made it tough for me. I was actually feeling the pressure on 13, 14, but I just stayed in the present. I was able to hit a great shot on 15, and that kind of put me back in control.”
Watson, a two-time Masters champion, nearly staged a dramatic upset with a dazzling back-nine performance, ultimately finishing three shots behind Niemann at 14 under par — his best individual finish since joining the LIV tour.

In addition to Niemann’s individual brilliance, Jon Rahm’s team — Legion XIII — secured victory in the team competition. The quartet of Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, and rookie standout Caleb Surratt combined for a final score of 35 under par, edging out rival squads in the tightly contested team event.
This team win further bolsters Legion XIII’s standing in the season-long points race and showcases the growing depth and talent of LIV Golf’s team structure, which continues to draw fans and players alike.
Niemann’s fifth win not only sets a new benchmark on the LIV circuit but also marks a personal resurgence. His ability to bounce back from recent struggles underscores his mental fortitude and adaptability. The Chilean, long touted as one of the brightest young stars in global golf, is now clearly one of the sport’s most formidable competitors.
As the LIV Golf season progresses toward its climactic stages, Niemann’s consistency and momentum may well position him for a historic season title — and possibly elevate him into contention for global accolades, particularly as the conversation around LIV Golf and its future integration with traditional tours continues.
With continued speculation about potential unification between LIV Golf and other global tours, performances like Niemann’s serve as a reminder of the depth and talent present within LIV’s ranks — and why its players are becoming impossible to ignore on the world stage.
